Seeing as all of my sports teams suck and I have no clue when the hell I’m going to get to experience the thrill of winning a championship ever again, I allow myself to live vicariously through the joy of others. It’s the only way you can get through life as a native of Philadelphia. As such, watching this video sent chills down my spine, and maybe it’ll do the same for you.
The craziness that was the final 2 minutes of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Boston last night was enough to make this lockout-shortened NHL season seem so worth it. Heartache and stunned faces on one end of the ice; pure elation and even more stunned faces on the other. I don’t know that we’ll ever see anything like it ever again, but now, thanks to a camera that was set up at The Pony in Chicago, we’ll forever get a taste of what it was like for Blackhawk fans as their team went from trailing 2-1 with 1:16 remaining in the third period to Stanley Cup Champions in a matter of 17 seconds.
